Mesquite Nevada and Real Estate
Mesquite Nevada is a small and upcoming little town 82 miles north of Las Vegas. They are primarily a retirement town, simply because they have several golf courses and the summers are a bit less hot than Vegas, at least I think. It has a large Walmart a few casinos for those gamblers which host some “has been” but still great entertainers. I saw Gordon Lightfoot at the Casablanca Hotel and Casino last year, he was good…but tired! Kenny Rodgers frequents there among several other entertainers of this caliber.
If I was a new bootstrap investor I would not be investing there, simply because its too small of a town. You chances for opportunity are more limited. Nonetheless you can still find good deals there. A seller just called me up three days ago, think she owed $200k value at $250-260k and wanted to sell quick to be with family in another state. My bad, I have been too busy to call back and should have investigated that, but being in another city, hummm, but I love going out there, its a nice little break and the Casablanca offers solace from Vegas and great hot tubs, spas jacuzzis, massages etc! ’nuff for now.
